Occasionally the old stories or songs may refer to something called the River Towns. While there are several rivers among the kingdoms, this particular reference is to the western communities of Greenhaven Shire.
The river travel from Riversend to Union (formerly known as Longbridge) was rich with the cultures of the barbaric spearfolk, Herrasian merchants, Dwarven traders, and bards looking to earn their keep before plying their trade in Glimring, the capital city.
They gained newfound attention after the attack of “The Matron”, the ancient black dragon who once laired in Ilkmire. However, the region is rapidly recovering due to the efforts of local heroes and the Ilkmire is being transformed from a harsh swamp to a fertile wetlands thanks to the dedicated Guardian at Witchmound. The local tribes of lizardfolk continue to be a problem, but Druidic tradition allows them to remain on their native lands in the swamps.
