The Stonegate is famous not only for its size but for its dining room which almost always has entertainment from traveling bards. The inn itself is a large, three-story stone building with few windows as it's original purpose was a guards' barracks in the first century of the capital's existence. It can hold over 50 guests at any given night and is nearly always busy. A large kitchen and dedicated staff of 12 means they rarely run out or behind on orders. The rooms themselves run the gamut from clean, common rooms to exclusive suites on the top floor.
Since the attacks on Glimring, it's been mostly in the business of handling merchant caravans or refugees fleeing the city. It's massive stable and barn can accommodate up to 20 horses and has three secure sheds for wagons (however, renting them do not come cheap). As it sits outside the city gates, it's not considered to be under the purview of the Bards Guild, but there have been incidents of harassment by Guild members.
