Orin Wenslow was the son of two farmers that lived in the hamlet of Beckley, just south of the town of Reedenford. Orin was a headstrong child that wished to prove himself, a trait that proved his undoing when he was eaten by a hellbeck.
In Iron 989, Orin's parents' farm was terrorized by the presence of a hellbeck in a nearby forest that had been eating the family's sheep. Orin was afraid of the beast, but wished to prove himself to his father by scaring it off. He left the family cottage after dusk in an attempt to ward the creature off, only to be quickly eaten. Orin's sister Yerra witnessed him get eaten by the beast, though she believed them to be friends. 3 guild members of the Clover Company later turned up and defeated the hellbeck, but no trace of Orin was found. Due to the nature of the beast, it was likely that Orin was corroded and digested soon after being consumed, leaving behind only bones.
