Jurndrek Owlridge was a dwarven archer from Drurek Weir that was once part of the adventuring party the Lucent Hand. He was a generally quiet character whose actions tended to speak for him instead. Jurndrek was rather skillful with the massive greatbow that he carried with him at all times. He was slain in the Battle for the Sun.
Description
Jurndrek wore a set of heavy armor that gleamed a dark purple and was plated in sporadically with gold. He donned an ornate helmet of similar make that featured a beautiful woman’s face, with the top tapering up into a point, almost like a cone. Jurndrek never removed his armor or parted with his greatbow, which was twice the size of the dwarf, generally seated on his back.
Jurndrek was a quiet and contemplative individual, and displayed an extreme deference to a deity he only aver referred to as "the Goddess". His pious nature would often put him at odds with Pelwey Galaewyn, who worshipped the Refulgent Lady.
History
Jurndrek began working with the Lucent Hand around Iron 946, after meeting Pelwey Galaewyn and HALDER in Atavar. The party later relocated to Gessaria, and began adventuring throughout the lands there.
In Iron 951, Jurndrek entered the 329th Mad King's Tournament along with the rest of the Lucent Hand, losing out in the archery round to the famed rogue Wander. His party later took 2nd place at the event.
Jurndrek volunteered his services during the battle against Zahast, wandering deep out into the treacherous Nightspell Marches to erect a beacon at the behest of Renbedar Uleshan.
Jurndrek also participated in the Battle for the Sun, where he helped form the rearguard against the attacking forces of Jylurm. He was slain during the defense of the central fort, but his corpse was rescued by the demigod Shalde. The surviving members of the Lucent Hand laid his body to rest just outside Madrioc, alongside his other team members, Tolsen Keflo and Verdon Looseth.
