Vanifer, born of fire and shadow, was shaped by the cracks in Waterdeep’s golden façade. A tiefling cast among cobbled alleys and noble spires, her youth was not her own. Drawn to the art of dance, she became a spectacle—admired, commodified, and controlled by those in velvet who cloaked cruelty in civility. Their hands taught her to distrust, and their halls taught her to flee.
Authority became her enemy. Survival, her stage.
With clever poise and calloused grace, she escaped Waterdeep, the City of Splendors using the vain ambitions of Marlos Urnrayle as a stepping stone toward freedom. Beyond the city’s edge, fate twisted her path with that of the ones who would become known as The A-Team—strangers who offered her no gilded chains, only the chance to strike back.
Together, they stormed the cursed Scarlet Moon Hall, a pyre of fanaticism and flame. There, amidst ash and blood, Vanifer laid claim to Tinderstrike, a dagger as volatile and beautiful as she.
Ever the opportunist, she utilized the Urnrayle Incident to ignite her spark and focus her visions, at the loss of Vivian Ilzimmer. She then fled into the dark, only to be pulled into Aeleen’s hunt for her own weapon.
Her whereabouts are currently unknown to all but Aeleen.
