Previous Episode: Sands of Time - S01 E01
Amid the steam and echoes of the bathhouse, after our adventurers reconvened to discuss their latest findings with Revek and taking a night's rest, the group took a look at the small chest containing a parchment list of names and numbers, possibly linked to the theft and sale of magical artifacts. Among the steam and splashing water, a gnome named Arnie Knucklebog overheard the discussion and recognized one of the names, Grator Longfront, leader of the Gnome Fisherman's Guild, Scombrobs, known for their fishing in the eternal pond inside the Magic Temple of Khar Benidir. Guided by this new lead, the party ventured to the Magic Temple, a sanctum of vast magical significance housing relics such as the Heart of the Colossus, the Crown of Wisdom, and the Temple of the Sun. There they found Grator, idly fishing with his fellow guild members. Upon inquiry, Grator admitted to purchasing a magic item from the guild but denied knowledge of any stolen items.
Continuing their exploration, the adventurers examined the temple, particularly the pedestal where the Sands of Time once rested. Emberglow discovered a solitary brown hair, a clue that could perhaps lead to the thief. They also encountered the Heaven's Carriage, an ancient artifact. It had a handle that opened a secret door to a deactivated portal. The group then split to cover more ground. Butters P. Nutts returned to the Whispering Wind tavern, where he met Nash Gu'lad, a retired pirate whose knowledge might aid in breaching the Coins & Cloaks warehouse. Emberglow Flamekissed and Juulia Troski sought the wisdom of Unknown, leader of the Mage Guild, who agreed to investigate the mysterious hair. During their departure, a dramatic scene unfolded as a young man, struck by love's sudden arrow, declared his dramatic and unrequited affection for Juulia Troski. Meanwhile, Jack ‘Jacky’ Can infiltrated the Warehouse District seeking employment that could lead him closer to the underground base of the thieves' guild, and Davkas Grosko, the reverend, inadvertently caused a tragic scene involving a homeless person and a potent mushroom.
Reuniting in the warehouse district, the group tricked the Goliath guard into abandoning his post, allowing them to stealthily infiltrate the underground base. Inside, they confronted and overcame two guild members before chasing a third through a portal. This portal transported them to the heart of a vast desert, before a large sandstone structure with an hourglass engraved on its façade, presumably marking the temple where the Sands of Time might be found.
