Previous Episode: The Significant Treasure - S01 E01
Four days after the escape from the burning town of Fayhold, the adventurers found themselves traversing the East Pass. Their journey led them to an encounter with Mattheo, a trader wearing unkempt clothes and driving a creaking wooden cart pulled by a donkey. Alongside him was his goblin helper, Nono. Mattheo was transporting a block of electrum, intended as a diplomatic gift from Lord Edward Brown of the Western Kingdom to a lord in East Eredonia. In a sudden and grim turn of events, Danté Galanodel, the elven ranger, took it upon himself to kill Mattheo, prompting the group to loot the trader’s cart. Nono, the goblin, managed to escape into the forest, disappearing from sight. Continuing their journey, the group eventually arrived at their intended destination, The Golden Lion tavern, located at a crossroads. Their mission was to find the Doler, believed to hold key information about the significant treasure. However, their search within the inn initially turned up nothing. Instead, they stumbled upon a secret fighting ring in the basement. In an unexpected twist, they accidentally found themselves in the ring, facing off against a bear.
After the ordeal, they encountered the Doler lurking outside the inn. With a storm brewing overhead, he advised them to secure a room for the night, promising to deliver a vital clue to their quest the following morning. As the storm intensified, turning the night tempestuous with thunder and lightning, their sleep was abruptly interrupted by a loud knock on their door. It was the Doler, bearing urgent news: they needed to leave the inn immediately. He handed them a map, marking the location of the significant treasure, and urged them to flee. Without hesitation, the group quickly gathered their belongings and departed The Golden Lion. As they made their way down the Dellar road, they cast one last glance behind them to see the inn consumed by flames.
