Previous Episode: Sands of Time - S01 E09
Picking up from the Halifal Tops, the adventurers consulted the seeing stone at the Temple of the Soaring Crane, witnessing Revek’s journey to Captain John Cutter with Abby. Preparing for their return to the Coins & Cloaks fortress, Monk Gyatso guided them to the main temple building. Inside, they encountered more monks, including Red Flint, a fire genasi paladin who recognized Jack ‘Jacky’ Can as his savior from a past attack. Jack Can, seeking a new staff, undertook three challenges: a test of balance, silence, and compassion. Despite initial failures, he ultimately succeeded. Meanwhile, Juulia Troski, Davkas Grosko, Butters P. Nutts, and Emberglow flew on Juulia's broom to a nearby valley, finding the pegasus herder, Keseus Aenous, and his sheep, Mister Sheep. Learning that bandits had stolen his pegasi, they infiltrated the bandit hideout. Juulia's loud greeting alerted the bandits, leading to a battle. Inside the hideout, they faced unstable bridges, a suspicious wall, a poisonous fountain, and some other rooms. They found parts of pegasi and put the remaining one out of its misery. After navigating swinging axes and using an elevator, they confronted a bandit with two pegasi, defeating him despite some falls off the cliff. The adventurers then flew to the fortress.
At the fortress, Captain John Cutter revealed his need to use the Sands of Time to lift his curse. Revek, inside the captain’s hut, was performing a ritual to turn Abby back into the artifact. The adventurers fought John Cutter and a stone golem. Despite Cutter’s magical compass allowing him to dodge attacks, Emberglow trapped him with walls of water. They broke into the hut just as Revek’s ritual failed. Abby emerged, transforming Revek into a gargantuan black dragon. In a final act of defiance, Revek, now a dragon, killed John Cutter before flying off. The adventurers, having saved Abby, left the fortress only to be confronted by armies of Lord Taurin Kadir and King Enathan Red. Banished from Eredonia for releasing a giant beast, they were cursed and bound to an unused ship, set adrift to die. Once at sea, they freed themselves from their chains but faced the uncertainty of sailing. Just then, John Cutter, revived by the lifting of his curse, appeared and offered to captain the ship, marking the end of the session and season.
