Akande is the god of war, victory, conflagration, and trials in the Ibayan Pantheon. He is commonly portrayed with his familiar, Adebisi, who takes the shape of an immense lion.
Akande, like his Targuite counterpart Beren, is a contentious god in his pantheon. He's somewhat of a loose cannon, and in legends has often started unnecessary conflicts. But he remains among one of the more popular Ibayan deities, as people often beseech him for strength and courage in the face of adversity.
