Jielong is the first leader of the Avanari Dragon. He is a kindhearted, benevolent, and wise old dragon and relishes in bringing happiness to Beldkind, often visitng Xiao and Sunatau villages and performing tricks for children. He was originally a lieutenant of D'yi, but he betrayed Her during the War of Foundation, helping Apollyon steal Diyi Haoyan's Fire of Ruin. He and his followers settled The Divide in Avanar, where they still live today.
As a symbol of the peace between Dragons and Man, Jielong assisted Beld in the creation of the Dragonborn.
In his human guise, Jielong appears as a kindly middle-aged man
