House Orthed of Deadhill is one of the great houses of Pelegon and the principal house of the Motherlands, having ruled as River Kings since the Pelegonic Conquest. House Orthed was founded by Orthos of the Deadmont, an ancient hero who slayed an ancient king on a hill. He built his castle there, which would eventually grow into the city of Deadhill. House Orthed has not always retained their crown. They passed in and out of kingship over the tumultuous millennia of the Fourth Age and had only recently regained their crowns when they were subjugated by House Pelegon.
Members of House Orthed tend to have blue-grey eyes, light brown hair, and aquiline noses.
