Alden, known to history as Goodsister Alden, or Minister Alden, was a priest, scholar, philosopher, naturalist, and polymath who served as the Grand Vizier of Pelegon during the reign of Pelegon Pelegon.
Alden was of common birth in the Motherlands and was a goodsister of the Order of Beld. Alden, as well as a Minister of Beld, was the chief librarian in the library located in the Imperial Palace. In this capacity, she became a close friend and confidant of the young Pelegon VII, becoming something of a parental figure to the orphaned boy. Alden was known to have participated in the conspiracy to betroth the serving girl Leyli to Pelegon despite her low birth.
When Pelegon VII ended his regency, he also dismissed the entire Imperial Conclave. His first appointment to his new Conclave was Alden, who he named Grand Vizier. Alden is believed to have been Pelegon VII's closest friend.
Alden would serve as Grand Vizier until her death in V 444.
Appearance
Alden was described as plain in appearance, plainspoken, and blunt. Nonetheless, she was also incredibly intelligent and a master of various scholarly and scientific arts. In addition, she was a kindhearted and considerate woman.
She had dark brown eyes and brown hair which she wore in a long style.
As a goodsister of Beld, she attired herself in the self-designed multicolored robes of her order, which she wore even as Grand Vizier of Pelegon.
Following her death, Alden was succeeded as Grand Vizier by Lord Alaric Sanguil
