The Tall Men are a mysterious race native to the Ringlands, though now inhabiting Aden-zyrahn. Tall Men tend to stand at nearly eight feet tall on average, making them one of the tallest of the races of Beldkind. They have grey skin, solid-colored eyes, flat noses, no ears, and no hair. They are exceptionally spindly, and are known to be physically weaker than other races due to their thin frames. Tall Men are hermaphroditic and their race has only one gender. Tall Men do not use first person pronouns, instead usually referring to themselves as "this one."

The Tall Men once inhabited the Ringlands, ruling it through a great empire, though catastrophe forced them to leave their homeland. The Tall Men come of age at 20 and tend to live to be 120. The Tall Men have access to mysterious metals which blacksmiths have been unable to recreate or replicate, though the Tall Men themselves are also unable to work these mystery metals. It is believed that the knowledge of how to work this mysterious metal was lost in the initial fall of their empire. Usually, this metal is black, though other colors have been observed. Tall Men are known to have built Tower City, like the cities of Azi Nay Zo and Idyn Vurahn. Some tower-city ruins located around the world may also belong to their civilization. Some scholars speculate that the tower-city of Gal-Anzarak was built in emulation of the Tall Men's tower-cities.

The Tall Men once ruled a vast realm which included parts of southeastern Yekare, largely modern Guldar and Gulkysten, but they were forced to flee from Yekare due to frequent wars with Dury and Unknown.

The folklore of the Tall Men holds that thousands of years ago a falling star landed on the world. From the fiery fallen star emerged the first Tall Men.
