Prince Qoryn Kushoros was the Prince of Knightstone and head of House Kushoros during the reign of Adrastus II. During his reign, the realms of the Ba'hram and the Empire had become closer and closer due to marriage pacts and hostage exchanges following Pelegon VI's invasion. It is sung that the young Prince Qoryn fell in love with Elissa Goodfellow, the daughter of the powerful Lord Pa'hranos Goodfellow. They were so in love that she ran away from the capital to be with him, and they were secretly wed. Though only nineteen years of age, the Shahanshah had already proven to be shrewd and wise and instead of making war against the Med'ny he seized the opportunity and used the marriage to peaceably negotiate House Kushoros’ entrance into the Empire. 

Qoryn would become a close friend and confidant of Adrastus II, eventually rising to the office of Grand Vizier. He served as Grand Vizier until Adrastus’ death. Together they enacted many reforms, revised the imperial law code for the first time in nearly a century, enumerated rights for the small folk, and other major reforms. He had a rocky relationship with Adrastus III and therefore retired back to Knightstone following Adrastus II’s death.
