The Swamprot Crisis was a conflict in the Motherlands in V 405. Initiated by Othello X Orthed, King of the Motherlands, the conflict led to tremendous political change in the Empire.
Prelude
Othello X wished to become immortal and sought the help of his bastard son, Sir Robert the Blue, a known Blood Magic practitioner. Othello X utilized the latent magical properties of the heart of the Stone Giant chieftain A'vak, having Robert place it within the swamp near the village of Cod Place, part of the dominions of House Fisher. To ensure Lord Corwyn Fisher's loyalty, Othello married his daughter and heir, Coryanne Fisher, to keep her as a hostage.
