Ugaros Succession Crisis

The Ugaros Succession Crisis occurred in V 194 following the death of Lady Ulyssa Ugaros. Lady Ulyssa had died childless and all of her siblings, save her bastard brother Sir Karthyl, had predeceased her. Ulyssa had named Sir Karthyl her heir in V 193 and he had been legitimized as Sir Karthyl Ugaros by Imperial decree of the claimant Shahanshah Beldoran Pelegon

However, following Lady Ulyssa's death, her cousin and former lawful heir, Ysrela Ugaros, pushed for her claim to the Quiet Castle. A sizable portion of House Ugaros rallied behind Ysrela, and armed civil war within the Quiet Castle seemed imminent. As the tensions flared, a descendant of one of Andiones Ugaros' bastards additionally came to Yekare to push his claim, though he was flatly and bluntly rejected.

Luckily, Sir Karthyl and Ysrela came to terms, deciding to unite their claims through a marriage pact. Lord Karthyl would nonetheless face several challenges to his rule over the course of his reign. Lord Lewis Jordos would push his claim to the Quiet Castle through his mother, Alyssa Ugaros, and Sir Markos Ugaros would rise in armed revolt against his kinsman to claim the Quiet Castle.
