Princess Matilda Orthed was a granddaughter of Queen Winifrith II Orthed. After Sir Timothy Sayn was named Lord of the Sacred Vale following the Mother's Crusade, Winifrith arranged a marriage between her granddaughter Matilda and the newly raised Lord Timothy to grant him additional legitimacy.
