Lord Timothy Sayn, known as Timothy the Pious, was a minor knight of low birth in the service of Queen Winifrith II Orthed. Despite his low birth, he had risen high in her esteem and counsel by the time of the Conquest of the Motherlands, becoming her chief advisor and the steward of Deadhill. A deeply devout worshipper of the Mother, Sir Timothy was a leading commander during the Mother's Crusade and was named as the high lord of the Sacred Vale after the war's conclusion.
