Edicts of Tolerance

The Edicts of Tolerance, sometimes called Adrastus' Laws or Nima's Laws, were a series of royal decrees by Shahanshah Adrastus I. The edicts granted the right to temple to multiple faiths in the Imperium, allowing them to build religious temples and proselytize without fear of legal repercussions. The edicts also famously abolished the Ashar, a tax on other faiths in the Imperium.

Before the edicts, many faiths, such as the Faith of Beld, had been de facto tolerated in the Imperium and existed in a legal gray area. They were subject to the Ashar and forbidden from constructing new temples, but otherwise generally left alone. However, Adrastus and his Grand Vizier, Goodsister Nima, sought to clear the air on the question of other faiths.
