Christopher Thomas is a mysterious and enigmatic character. A large, gruff and solitary man, he looks like he is only in his early thirties, yet he has held his job as lighthouse keeper for at least a decade. He lives in the lighthouse, with his faithful “doggy Bernardo”, or Biro, who has followed him for as long as anyone can remember, while Christopher Thomas carries out his tasks with admirable dedication.
