Background

Once there was a different clan, mighty and strong. Its name was Blighclaw and it willingly joined the plot to cause Vermindoom and poisoned the Lay lines of the Realms. For their service, their was the task to purge part of the area now known only as the Ravaged Coast. As The Gnaw expanded and ratmen poured in their millions, Blightclaw headed south and decimated the broken island and their inhabitants, scouring the land, pillaging it for emberstones and uprooting old civilisations. Their mission was a success, yet they were not thorough and once they moved on from one part of this area, the remnants of the other forces grew anew. Enraged by the carnage, awoken from slumber or forced to change the ways of the past, numberless factions rose and fought over the broken land to forge a new future. Many a hero rose from the ashes of destruction, each spinning a tale worthy of a song. And in time, the echoes of these tales caught up with Blightclaw.

Thinking their position was secure, Blightclaw grew careless. A fatal mistake. Crazed morruk warlord mounted on top of giant troggoth lead his Waaaagh! to enact their vengeance. Having gained unfatomathle power, this warlord decimated the clan and broken its might. Still he pressed on, ever getting closer to the Gnaw, so other clans had to be sent in to stem the tide. Of these battles at the moment nothing is known. What is known however, is that those surviving members of the Blightclaw clan were rounded up and decimated by the agents of the Council of Thirteen for such failure could not be suffered.

Yet it was not the end, for two rats of station were left alive, two rivals in years past, now bound together with a purpose laid upon them by the Council. Warrior priest Snotsqueek the Red Rat and Skryre wizard Nickit Cravenclaw now have to lead of what's left of the old clan, now rechristened as Spitscreech, to success or utter ruination. Bound by mutual hatred and the unavoidable fate should they fall, these two now race against the fate to salvage their station and perhaps rise again in the ranks of the skavendom. And should something happen to the other, after the task is done? Oh well, such unlucky accidents do tend to happen.
