Xanthia - Session 127 - Reckless

Chatter and joy echoes around the halls of the Ultros, as sailors and companions chatter and relax.

A thumping awake Xan as she lay on her hammock. A message comes through from the second in command to join them on the Upside - something suspicious is happening. Xan bangs on the doors of her companions, bringing them to the surface with her.

The crew point them out to the bay and they jump into the boats to follow the three from their party.

Most of the conversation with Helikaon was in shouts. Theo, Braz Helikaon and Alke seem furious and scream about morals for an age. Xan’s words seem to disappear into the battle of voices.

She said she’s going to kill us and I don’t want any of you to die… again.

This is such a hard argument and Xan has never seen them argue so loudly. Helikaon screams in defense of the child in the cell, a girl only locked up by her birth. Trapped and sentenced to a life imprisoned. Like Xan.

Maybe they did make a mistake. We left her, The Chosen left her in a prison. Maybe they were right to go to save her. But they shouldn’t have gone alone.

The moment they saw a bubble form from under the waves Xan dove in and bolted towards them. She grabbed Calliopes face and held it gently in her arms under the water, speaking furiously even though the Siren could not hear her.

“Are you okay? That was so dangerous! Why did you go without us?”

They pull eachother up onto the boat and sit. The argument continues on as they return to the ship. She tried to speak to Calliope and forgive herself a little on the boat journey home.

Calliope, I hurt you. I’m sorry after you were already hurting. I don’t want to make it worse and I know at the moment my words may be worthless but this decision you are all making is truly reckless.

I mean, I’ll back you up. I know reckless.

Still a bit angry but forgiven.
