Description

An undead spirit formed around the ideology of a home. She once formed passageways from her domain into Límíng City, offering a safe home to those in need. The nature of the Spirit Realm, however, could not sustain her dream.

Despite existing for at least 50 years, Danchun is approximately 16 in both her appearance and behavior.

Abilities

  • Sanctuary. Danchun can bless small stretches of land to make them safe and habitable.
  • Memories of Home. When casting Conjure Food and Drink, Danchun creates flavorful meals that evoke nostalgic memory in those who join the meal.
  • Extra Arms. In her armored form, Danchun has four arms with which she wields her blades. She can summon spectral impressions of these arms at will.

Within the Campaign

A group of shikarists, including Yu Recitation, arrived to end Danchun's perceived abduction of citizens. She lashed out violently and severely and, despite the youth of her nature, eliminated all five shikarists. Danchun was then trapped in a cycle within her own domain by Recitation's vengeful soul. It wasn't until Liutubang arrived that they were able to help Reese and their sect move on, and comfort a distraught Danchun by offering her a new way to help.

Danchun joined them in their home, following in their and Shouwei Jin-li's footsteps to practice shikar and protect her city. However, Danchun's feeble hold on her own control encouraged the party to request help from the Jihui Sect. Danchun has since taken up residence in Ira's Mirror until she has gained the necessary control of herself to return home.

History

Danchun was presumably young girl in Límíng City during her life. After becoming an undead spirit, Danchun began to craft entryways from Límíng City into her domain in the Spirit Realm. She intended to provide a safe place for people to live happily, away from the material struggles of money and shelter and food. However, mortals dwelling in the Spirit Realm for an extended period of time began to fade out first in mind and then in body.

When Yu Recitation's shikar sect arrived, they intended to slay her. Danchun rejected the reality that had corrupted her dream and those who sought to undermine her purpose. She killed them, each and every one, but then was trapped into a loop with Yu Recitation's vengeful ghost until Liutubang interrupted their cycle.
