+2 STR +2 INT -2 DEX HP 6
When pravii discovered they were not alone in the Universe, they nearly destroyed their entire star system, turning them into careful thinkers ready for action wherever it comes from.
Size and Type
Pravii are Medium humanoids with the pravii subtype.
Always Ready
Pravii always expects trouble. If they fail the surprise check at the beginning of a combat, they are still considered surprised, but do not get the flat-footed condition.
Keen Senses
Pravii are very aware of their surroundings and get a +2 racial bonus to Perception and Sense Motive.
Ponder
Pravii are experts in connecting the dots. They receive a +2 racial bonus on any Int- or Wis-based skill checks when not in immediate danger or distracted.
Armor Savant
Pravii are defensive experts and know how to protect themselves. They gain a +1 racial bonus to AC when wearing armor. Their armor check penalty is 1 less severe than normal while wearing heavy armor.
Culture
A Third Generation Species with a similar history to Humans if not for a single fact: during their first landing on another world in their solar system they accidentally triggered an ancient war device left behind by Celonians. The moon was revealed to be a space station, consuming the nearby world and causing havoc on the star system.
The League of Worlds decided to intervene, breaking the Native Reservation Act to save the pravii civilization from the damage. Pravii watched in horror as alien starships landed on their world, ravaged by earthquakes, blizzards and cyclones caused by the sudden shift in the system’s gravitational pattern.
The incident was so traumatic to the pravii that it completely changed their mindset. Pravii became careful thinkers and defensive experts, considering every new situation for long periods of time to be sure they caught all sides of the problem before making a decision.
Pravas is a world on a social and technological level similar to Earth, divided into a number of governments in a constant Civil War. They are experts in security and defense technology and export weapons, armor and ships to many of the species in the Free March.
They descend from large plains herbivores and retain many of the trappings of their primitive past, including large family structures in which the elder member is responsible for all younger members, legally obliged to provide education, housing and sustenance to all. In some nations the leader may even be judicially responsible, been sued or tried for crimes committed by their relatives. Murder is not uncommon in these cases.
Physical Description
Pravii are tall and bulky mammalian-like humanoids with thick brown to golden fur, tapir-like snouts, small black eyes and large independent ears shaped like bat wings. They are divided into two genders, with females being bulkier due to more body fat, and with longer snouts. They reproduce sexually, with the female carrying the baby for almost two years before birth. The female is not impeded in any way during most of the gestation as long as she remains properly nourished and healthy.
Relations
Pravii are careful by nature, but retain a certain level of territorialism. Initial contact with others tend to be cold and impersonal, with potential for altercations to test the ground. Once the pravii have accepted someone as a friend, they will do what they can to protect the other with their lives. Pravii are naturally suspicious of celonians and always expect them to cause trouble. Some pravii are aggressive to all alien species, especially those who believe the best way to protect Pravas is to destroy all potential enemies before they show their true faces. Conflict with some pravii governments and organizations are a fact of the Free March.
Adventurers
Pravii prefer to remain on their home star systems, but many leave their worlds to interact with allies, search for new means to protect their homeworld or just to understand what lies out there. Pravii make great Soldiers, Operatives and Envoys. Technomancers and Mechanics are often found on freelancing starships and neutral space stations. Mystics are more common on Pravas, but may be seen travelling the stars. Solarians pravii are very rare due to the up--close-and-personal attitude of most Solarians, which conflicts with the pravii more ponderous nature.
Names
Pravii name structures vary with each nation, but tend to follow a simple pattern of three names, with the first being the family or herd name, the second the name of the father or mother, and the third the personal name. Pravii are often called by their first name unless they are near family. Family elders often forfeit their second names to indicate they have outlived their parents. Names are short and genderless.
