- Continuing the search in town for Arabelle, the group went to Blinsky Toys to ask the shop owner some questions. They inquired about Ireena and the dolls that Gadof Blinsky was creating. It was learned that these replicas were being created for Izek Strazni, the captain of the Vallaki guard. Izek was threatening to burn down Blinsky's shop if the toy maker didn't create these dolls to his exacting and increasingly specific directions. When asked, Gadof told the group that Izek found this depiction of Ireena in some hundreds of years old book he got from the Baron. Moving the conversation on, the party asked Blinsky if he knew of any large events in Barovia's past. The only thing the toy maker could come up with on the spot was the flooding of the town of Unknown by Strahd's hand. Something had angered His Lordship, causing him to reroute the entire river through the town as punishment. The group then shifted to asking about recent customers. They learned from Blinsky that a girl came in with her "father" buying her a toy for her birthday. He was able to identify this man as Bluto Krogarov, a fisherman who often sells his catches for wine at the Blue Water Inn.
- The adventurers then moved on to the Blue Water Inn. The establishment was lively with residents enjoying a drink after the recent restocking of wine. Speaking to one of the owners, Danika Martikov, they were able to gain information on the location of Bluto's house. While there they also again saw Rictavio regaling guests in story and song.
- Our heroes went to Thrice Thread Clothiers where they met the owning sisters, Alana, Alisa, and Aluna. The ladies were able to rush an order of fine clothing suited for a dinner with Lady Fiona Wachter. The custom tailored clothes would be available for pickup later on that day.
- Once finished with their tailoring order, the party went to Bluto's cabin at the north end of town in search of the fisherman. His neighbor was able to eventually confirm his residence and expressed how Bluto seemed oddly cheery and claimed to have a new lucky charm to help in his fishing woes. After looking around the cabin, the group concluded that Bluto was out on the lake right now. They hurried in the rain to the large Lake Zarovich just outside of town. There, in the middle of the dark and cold water, was a lone man fishing in a small boat. With Caleb's help as a bird of prey, they were able to spot a large sack sitting at the bottom of the boat. After a few moments, the man tosses the sack into the lake, and it immediately slips below the surface into the murky depths below. Launching into action, the group races to ensure that if the girl was in that sack, she would be saved. The group jumps into boats and makes off towards the man as Frumpkin changes into an octopus. Between him and the few that dived into the lake, they were able to pull the sack into the boat, revealing the small and unconscious child within. After a few stressful moments, the party was able to help Arabelle cough up the water from her lungs and ragain her composure. Questioning the drunk and dazed Bluto hardly gives the answers desired as the man mumbles about Vistani being magical and lucky. He eventually got out that perhaps sacrificing Arabelle to the lake would bring him luck in his fishing setbacks. Speaking with Arabelle, the party discovers she was captured by Bluto after sneaking into Vallaki and being enticed with a toy. Smacking some politeness into the man, they pushed the drunk Bluto onward on the muddy trail back to the Glades River Encampment.
