The Hawker Sea Fury was a British fighter aircraft that was developed by Hawker Aircraft for the Royal Navy during the Second World War. It was one of the fastest production single-engine aircraft ever built. The Hawker Sea Fury was based on the Hawker Tempest, but with a lighter and more streamlined design. It was powered by a Bristol Centaurus radial engine that produced 2,480 horsepower and drove a five-bladed propeller. This fighter had a maximum speed of 740 km/h and a range of 1,100 km. It was armed with four 20mm Hispano V cannons and could carry up to 907 kg of bombs or rockets. The Hawker Sea Fury first flew in September 1944, entering service during the first months of 1946. It also saw combat in the Korean War, where it achieved several victories against the jet-powered Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 (Fagot). The Hawker Sea Fury represents the pinnacle of British piston-driven aeronautical engineering, and is highly sought after by veteran pilots across Oceanyka.
