Soldier's Wife
-Veterancy-
This service rifle has accompanied men into the darkest depths of hell, and benefits greatly from perks related to veterancy.
The M1871-88 Beaumont-Vitali rifle is a Dutch bolt-action rifle. It is essentially an upgrade to the earlier M1871 Beaumont rifle, incorporating the innovative Vitali magazine system used in the Fusile Vetterli-Vitali Modello 1870/87 rifle. Beaumont-Vitali rifles are chambered for 11x54mmR black powder cartridges and feed from a 4-round fixed magazine. Such a design was nothing but a stopgap measure before a more modern design could be acquired (as the Beaumont-Vitali is contemporary to the Gewehr 88 and the Fusil Modèle 1886 "Lebel"). When the Geweer M. 95 came into service, these rifles were left for militia service and units stationed in the Dutch East Indies.
