The party, accompanied by Nafir the 'Stableboy' and Omooz the Vileslicer, champion of Thrizur, were on the trail of an even bigger beast in the Hunting Grounds. Coming upon a canyon, they spotted a catoblepas major having its way feasting on a pack of lions. They saw quickly that it was able to instantly destroy a creature with its death ray, before turning invisible.
Dispatching the provoked lion pride, they quickly hunted the catoblepas down in what must once have been an old site of a battle. As the battle ensued, the area turned red. During the fight, under the supernatural influence of the catoblepas, Arkorow punched Nafir with fists of thunder, nearly killing him.
The bull-like creature attempted to best the party but proved to be no match in the end. Overwhelmed, however, Nafir seemed heartbroken, but was cheered up as best as he was able by Drazvik Renfara who cast ceremony on him, granting a minor blessing in the name of Thrizur.
Seemingly satisfied with the thrill of the hunt, Omooz gave Drazvik Renfara a vicarious blessing of Thrizur; the goodhunter.
Returning hours later to the Temple grounds of Emissary, the party was met with strange murmuring and disarray. Evidently, magic had vanished from the temple grounds area, and no resident seemed able to cast even the most basic of spells.
