- In Sylvan, you can't lie because it uses true names for things. Someone who knows a little about magic would already know this.
- Faeries can turn invisible with Feth Fiada.
- People that have faerie blood in them are called halflings. Many of them possess an inherent ability to speak Sylvan.
- Faeries can't learn magic except for Glamour.
- If you see pointed ears on someone from the corner of your eye, it means they have faerie blood.
- Contact with cold iron dispels Glamour.
- Faeries are vulnerable to cold iron weapons. Touching it causes them stinging pain but no damage, and weakens them physically.
- In the forest, they like to rest in Alder trees, or dance beneath them.
- Some fae are suckers for attractive mortals.
- There is some particular procedure for taking something from an elder tree, and if you get it wrong, the whole forest will be offended. You're not exactly sure what to do, though.
- Speaking an untruth to a fae, or not doing something that you said you were going to do offends them.
- Breaking a promise or a deal can get you killed.
- They don't like to be called Faeries. Try "The Fair Folk" instead... most of them will accept that?
- They have a thing about borrowing versus stealing, but you're not sure what that's all about.
- Any food or drink offered to you by the fae tastes amazing, the most delicious version of that particular food or drink you can imagine. There must be something magical about it. Remember, you can roll to see if you know more about fae food.
How much you know about the Fae depends on your Savoire Fae skill. The sections below give you the information that your character should know based on their skill level. You can also roll to see if you might know things even if they aren't on your list, but not until it becomes relevant. Storycrafters have a table against which to compare your success margins for this, so please drop us a ping. Fae characters that were raised among the Fae are assumed to know fae lore as if they had a skill level of 15, and can roll for the 17+ items. Fae characters that were raised amongst humans have no similar bonus.
