The journey south to Red Cloud Mesa was a slow and calm one, two rather uneventful days by well-travelled and well-kept roads, first down to the foot of the mesa and then along its edge until they could find a way up on top. By the settling evening of that second day, they could soon see the clustered buildings of Camp Narache in the distanc.
They were greeted by the local Braves, who could pretty readily point them in the direction of Meela Dawnstrider at her residence. It was a calm and quiet place, with Meela herself home and welcoming to the party -- particularly after them mentioning how they were doing this for Ruul Eagletalon in particular.
As they explained their plans to her, she was quick to warn them about the dangers that could lay up ahead for them. The area they were looking to cross through to reach the harpy lair was known as the Brambleblade Ravine; a treacherous stretch of badlands known for the quilboars who'd roam through the place, having found passages into Mulgore there from their other lairs in the soutern reaches of The Barrens.
For the enchantment that she could offer up to them, she placed one upon Gan Jedi's warhorn. Once he'd blow in it, would be able to convey a message of his choosing that would be able to reach Eagletalon and his Braves. She had heard a few things herself of the harpies and the deeds they had done, though thankful that they had not been raiding through settlements around Camp Narache -- at least not yet.
Meela eventually offered for the party to spend the night and share some stories, before they all had to be off the next day. The party were more than happy to accept the offer, as a good place to stay before continuing their adventures was always a welcome thing. Zachariah took to share some stories from the party's previous adventures, where they had been in the past and the things they had seen aling the way.
Qalia Sugarfuel continued on with some stories of a more personal nature, including how the legacy of her Sugarfuel name started with her grandpa in Bogpaddle who wanted to work a more tasty treat out of conjured food. Gan Jedi indulged in the story of how he bound himself to the service of Bwonsamdi and the boons he had been granted as a result -- a valueable ally, Meela figured, but also one to perhaps be a bit wary of.
Kelrith Shalith for his part, shared again the visions that he saw when the party was last in Thunder Bluff -- the visions of someone, a figure he could not quite place, but that he had all his faith in being his long-lost son somewhere out there in the wide world.
Eventually, as the night grew ever later, the party settled in for the night. Only Zachariah and Kelrith stayed somewhat awake, as both were rather fine keeping each other with company and conversation, without needing to sleep like the rest of their mortal peers.
