Chapter 28: New Party Fellows

Before the party could confidently continue their journey, to the Stonetalon Mountains and there to Unknown, they had to bolster their numbers a bit. And so, with The Cat and the Shaman as their temporary home for a few days in the city, the party set to work trying to find new potential members.

Eventually, this landed them with two. The first one was a rough and gruff pandaren woman named Jung-Won Oxhide, a seemingly regular patron of The Cat and the Shaman. The second one was a towering tauren man named Yuma Stonehoof, who was a native to Stonetalon and who had heard some of the same as the party for the elemental troubles in the region.

Before the party could embark to plan their next journey, however, it turned out the Jung-Won had a rather hefty tab at the establishment. And Pala, the proprietor, was not at all keen to let her walk away without paying up for herself. Given the sum of it, the party tried to persuade her by regaling tales of their heroic deeds, of what they had done before in The Barrens and in Mulgore.

With these tales, Pala recognized the pary for who they were. Of course the tale had reached her and her patrons for what they had accomplished. And the fact that they were here now gave her an idea; if she could use their names and reputation, essentially as endorsement of The Cat and the Shaman, she would be fine to let go of the coin owed.

And the party chose to accept.

With their party now bolstered, it was time to make preparations. While some went to look for some means to make the way north, a caravan or similar, Servius Felheart took off to meet some colleagues of his. Althallen and Teliriah were another pair of Silvermoon diplomats, who had set up offices for themselves in Thunder Bluff. Servius had already been in contact with the a handful of times before, and expected this rendezvous to be much like the last.

What the blood elf left with, was a request from the two to seek out another Silvermoon figure by the name Braelyn Firehand. Her role there was much the same as Servius had on his travels, but as of late Althallen and Teliriah had been struggling to keep contact with her. Perhaps Servius could investigate closer. Given that he was headed the same way, naturally that should not be a problem.

As for means to get to Stonetalon, and more specifically to Sun Rock Retreat, the party had no luck. The only caravan going that way would be making trips via The Crossroads; a far, far longer journey than simply heading there on foot. They had seen on their maps, and Yuma could confirm it, that there were some old but still frequently used pass through the mountains at the northern end of Mulgore.

All things considered, especially that they had a good guide at hand, they opted to take the northern pass.
