The Blake Library is a relatively recent addiction to City University. Funded by the Blake family and built to rival The Hendon Library. Its purpose is to allow access to scholarly books to those outside of the Modella faith. They continue the great library traditions including tying the silk (see Customs & Celebrations) but there are those whose mock its attempts to appear more grand than the Hendon. For example, there are those who think its bookshelves, walkways deliberately more intricately and artfully carved than the shelves at the Hendon, are over the top and are a reflection of the garish and tastelessness of the newer City University

While it has fewer ancient books than its rival it does have a wealth of work done by the university in the newer sciences and areas of study like psychology.
