Among Vincio Monto's possessions, a scrap of paper was found, indicating he was in possession of a safe - C-27 - in The Bastion, the most secure bank in Erenen, possibly the entire Northern Realms.
Aregrionno has been dismissive of their ties to Monto - claiming that he must've worked alone. However, they have claimed possession of whatever possessions he had, claiming they belong to the state. They've made arrangements to empty out the vault in 7 days.
We know that the Bastion operates with complicated key phrases - so we can't just pretend to work for Monto, and there's no key to be found.
Furthermore, the Bastion is run by Umbrun Orimnar - one of the most cunning and ruthless dwarven bankers to ever make their way from Eimrar. He has extensive ties to Unknown - Clan Orim - so he enjoys certain diplomatic protection in that sense. We know he values the privacy of his clients and the security of his vault above all else, preventing us from simply showing up with a warrant.
Any attempt at gaining access to vault C-27 that can be led back to the state, is bound to trigger major diplomatic complications, if not outright war.
The Mission
- Retrieve the contents of safe C-27 within 7 days - before the 13th of Summersdawn.
- Make sure that nothing leads back to you or Erenen authorities.
- Detection might result in the Heaton City Guard being contacted. You will be on your own, outside of any protection from Brixom Malpa.
- Detection might also result in lethal force being used against you, or worse.
- Escape.
The Heist
Frink Vaultbreaker was hired by Brixom Malpa to perform the heist. He relied on a variety of talent, and finally settled on Maloc, Gimlen, Viktor "Vitya" Kindratovich and Arzor Whistlecoin.
After an initial scouting run of The Bastion, the party jumped into action as they heard Gimlen confront Umbrun Orimnar and ending up disintegrated. Working their way into the vault, they found unlikely support from Boltu, an agent of the Granite Lord.
Reaching the deep vault, the party retrieved The Note in the Vault and started to make their way out. Umbrun was waiting for them, however, and disintegrated Boltu in front of the party.
A fight broke out in the tight confines of the upper vault, which ended when Vallia Wiseflare transported the entire party to the Elemental Plane of Fire.
She did so with an agenda; she was looking for a heist crew of her own. Maloc managed to get out of the deal, and was transported away, as opposed to Arzor Whistlecoin and Viktor "Vitya" Kindratovich, who were now under new employment.
