Maloc

This character is dead.
The Raven Shield's Bard
PC

Maloc was a gracious and imposing Dragonborn bard with a warm personality, yet sometimes with a surprisingly cold heart (and breath attack). His loyalty to his friends made him the soul of the party; his training in espionage and assassination made him its cold wrath.

History

Maloc was a white Dragonborn bard from the city of Ossus, Aregrionno.

Maloc grew up at the court of the Whitgor family. He was orphaned at a young age and taken in by Nero Whitgor, the patriarch. Maloc got a cultured education, learning to play multiple instruments, and entertaining the nobility with exciting stories he heard on his days off from adventurers in the town's pubs.

He became close friends with Whitgor's son, Aryan Whitgor, and would often bail out his companion to prevent small scandals when Aryan had worked himself into trouble again.

During the Night of Hidden Blades, house Whitgor was overthrown by house Rubiano. Nero was killed and Aryan was captured. Maloc only escaped thanks to a visiting dignitary by the name of Brixom Malpa, who smuggled him out of the country and trained Maloc into the more subtle arts of espionage and subterfuge.

Following his training, he was sent to join The Raven Shield in Erenen in 642 5E.

Joining the Raven Shield

Maloc found the Raven Shield in the basement of a Heaton manor on the 23rd Midspring, 642 5E, engaged in an investigation into a monstrous tome.

Aiding the party in the fight against the demonic literature, Maloc reveals he was sent to the party by Brixom Malpa.

Joining The Raven Shield afterwards, Maloc was present for Cereborn's attack on The Hog's Head on the 24th, and helped clear out the secret Elleseandi base, recovering an Encrypted Elleseandi Tome in the process.

Afterward, Maloc was able to extract some form of justice on a fugitive Aregrionno crime lord.

On the 27th of Midspring, Maloc was involved in an ongoing investigation into the Granite Lord. The mystery surrounding the Granite Lord, their identity and their crimes naturally attracted the inquisitive dragonborn.

Involvement in the Heaton Inferno

Heaton

As a charming entertainer, Maloc felt right at home during the Raven Shield's investigation as to who petrified Elenora Sinask during the Summer's Start Banquet.

Confronted with the perpetrator, Maloc and the others gave chase, leading to a showdown at a cemetery and subsequent fiery explosion in the heart of Heaton.

Determined to aid the survivors, Maloc was a part of the efforts to heal the severe burns they suffered. This also led to him meeting Lady Copperbeam, and him acquiring the Obsidian Dagger.

Involvement in the Heaton Heist

Heaton

Following a period of various freelance adventuring jobs, Maloc joins a Brixom-led initiative to find out more about the true instigators of The Heaton Inferno.

Under the alias of 'Lockheart', he teamed up with Frink Vaultbreaker, Arzor Whistlecoin, Viktor "Vitya" Kindratovich and Gimlen to break into The Bastion, the fortress-like bank run by Umbrun Orimnar.

The heist succeeded if only through sacrifice, struggle, and Maloc's ingenuity. Stuck in the Elemental Plane of Fire for nearly a week, he reappeared in Heaton, with crucial new intelligence.
