The New Era in the history of Yavarra began with the signing of The Treaty at the Dawn at Volyn, an event that marked the end of the devastating War of Magic between the divine and arcana factions. The remaining clergy and arcanists gathered in the capital of Zorenka, not far from the World's Tree Sapling, to discuss and agree upon the conditions of the treaty.
After weeks of negotiations, the treaty was finally signed, setting in stone the place of magic in the world. The document established rules and regulations for the use of magic, and ensured that both the divine and the arcana factions would work together to maintain the balance of magic in the world.
One of the most important clauses of the treaty was the creation of a new council, composed of representatives from both the divine and the arcana factions. This council, known as the Council of Magic, was responsible for overseeing the implementation of the treaty and ensuring that both factions adhered to its regulations.
In the aftermath of the War of Magic, the world was left in ruins. The catastrophic event that shattered the floating cities and plunged them to the ground had destroyed much of the world's infrastructure, and many cities and nations were left in ruins. The remaining survivors had to rebuild their homes and communities and work together to restore the world to its former glory.
The Council of Magic established its headquarters in Miran, the only flying city that remained intact after the War of Magic. Meanwhile, the clergy of the Council of Magic chose to remain in Mirel, the sister city of Miran, built on a mountainous island southeast of Zorenka.
As part of the Treaty, a Guild of Magi was established, under the control of the Council of Magic. The Guild of Magi built their residences (as they call them) in the countries of Yavarra. Depending on the region, this residence may be a school or an academy (like the Academy of Artifice), or a tower (like the Magi Tower in Dascocia), and the inhabitants of these residences have their freedom as limited as is allowed by the local government - rather freewill in Harwan, and very limited and restricted in Dascocia.
