Darkest Night

Ceremony

Leodurem Monarchy

Outside of Ferelden an the major cities, much of the existing phrax structure is stable so the lights stay on. Currently there remains a ban on magic casting during this time. It can be rather stifling.

They'd have the Medonska March - in which, each town/village has a precession of light bearers & protectors lead the way to the highest point in the region to them where they are to construct a massive bonfire - big as they can - to emulate the rising of the sun as a means to guide the sun back to the sky. They would walk up their own path/trail, placing & lighting beacons to try raising the sun from its resting place below the earth.

Ferelden got new rituals after the Night of Falling Stars; in which, Echelon tried attaching enough magic light crystals to the bottom of Echelon to create a pseudo-sun. It wasn't just the archmages in Echelon, people would light floating lanterns to guide them all to rest underneath Echelon - adding to the glow. In a time of solidarity, showing all of the individual lights coming together can truly light the way.

Mystrium, AKA TRITONS

All countries or cultures close to the ocean have a genuine fear of the Darkest Night, for even Tritons push to evacuate some smaller fish folk to inland lakes or underground submerged caves for there are truly things in the deep that can only come out in the complete absence of light. While humanoids on the land are putting up festival lights, celebrations, or protecting from some things that do go bump in then night - the Tritons must deal with awakening of subterranean creatures. Getting charged from previous Week of Godrings, exhibit horrific transcendent bioluminescence. Charming, an altering the minds, feelings, personas of those who gaze upon them as they make their way up towards the daylight zone.

High Elfs & Wood Elfs,

The Elves view the darkest night as a dry spell of magic, as if the world had partied too hard during the Week of Godrings.

High Elfs take a mindset of "The world has gone dark, so it's up to US to relight it!" They would go around painstakingly sacrificing their own magic to help bring light to the forest & roads so that all travelers may be able to make it home.

Wood Elfs would use regular torches an especially put out with plant growth & druidcraft, crossbreed a special type of flower that would only grow in the dark to pull double duty as a spiritual prayer to the Eladrin Elfs but also as a natural ward against Monstrosities and other creatures. The scent from this flower is rather pugnant. This flower needs, for the few days it'd be planted, near constant attention. Training & trials would be made, even for the elves, to stay vigilant an choose designated "Bloom Keepers" to keep an eye out for other things that may not be repelled by these flowers.

Estoenia

On the darkest of nights such as this when Beasts would hold the most power, there must've been some oppressive force.. mayhaps the cold dragging out the dead - tale of necrotic vengeful spirits taken by the monsters that devoured everything but their bones left naught but their regretful spirits behind. Spirits that would rise up again to slate their unforgiven wrath. In a time where one of the earliest towns were ravaged by such, the first rays of light came naught from the skies above but from a heroic woman brandishing a torchlight. The rays of light an nothing but her fur coat worn, falling away boots, an the last dredges of supplies - she led the way to giving to neighbors and the frostbitten forgotten - to warn them once more against the tides of death an frost.

During the Wintertime, this is a tale that inspires the custom for women to lead a precession with torches in hand & spare, discarded, repaired clothes and gifts to make a patrol throughout the town ensuring no neighbor is left without firewood and no homeless are left out in the cold.

Girls would wear heavy fur coats an dawn light accessories to further reflect off of the torches in hand to replicate the aura of light that this woman gave off. Whilst the man carried an towed behind tools & spare material to make repairs around town - carry any donated clothing, food & whatnot.
