For generations, the Court of Autumn had been the ruling season in Fey and under their stewardship the realm had enjoyed the bounty and gentle decline of autumn, until a sudden change of the realm's Season ousted them from their seat in favor of The Court of Spring. Their sudden change in position has done little to stymie their power in the lands of Fey however as, following the somewhat disastrous change of leadership, many newly displaced peoples of the realm flocked to the lands of the Court who had brought them so much stability before. Due to this and the charismatic leadership of their king, Arteym Thistledown, the Court of Autumn has remained a major player in the politics of the realm of Fey, despite the cycle of the seasons dictating their powers should be at their weakest.
While none amongst the Fey would dare directly challenge the will of the Seasons of their home and thus the rulership of Spring, this hasn't stopped the Court of Autumn from taking every opportunity they can to undermine the Court of Spring's authority, often finding them to be easy targets due to Spring's lax leadership. Following the apparent betrayal of Prince Derrek Firstspring, the Court publicly denied any involvement in the matter but rumor has it that the King has been using the opportunity provided by these events to strengthen their ties with the Courts of both Winter and Summer, trading off of the information they are purported to have been provided by the missing Prince.
Alongside this, it's well known among the people of the realm that King Arteym and The Spring Queen have a long held feud with one another, though the exact reasons why are unknown and the subject of much speculation amongst the gossip inclined members of the realm.
