A little over six months ago on a night like any other, Miwa laid down to rest after a long days work tending to the wounded upon the front lines of Verden's civil war. He awoke suddenly in the middle of the night to find himself in an unfamiliar basement and bound to a chair. He quickly discovered that his temporary captor was none other than Talon Coldwind, Prince of Fey in name, its King in nearly all other respects following his mother's retreat from public life.
The Prince revealed to Miw that he had sought him out in order to entrust him with a mission one which, if successfully carried out, would bring the restoration of all the Miwa had lost which was in the Prince's power to give and if failed, would result in further dire consequences. The mission; to hunt down Derrek Firstspring, Talon's younger brother who had vanished six years ago following his reveal as a traitor to the spring court, and return him to Prince Talon's custody. Talon instructed Miwa that he would prefer his little brother returned alive, but that if nothing else could be managed, dead would be accepted as well, before sending him off on his quest with a promise that he would "check in" soon.
