Description: Nuada the Argent is the Hero-King of the Tuathan Church. He once lost lost his hand and a portion of his arm in a great battle against the enemies of the Tuatha De Danann. As a result of no longer being "whole" and fit for rule, he stepped down from the ruler role. In time, the hand and arm were magically healed by Diancecht , restoring its use and his kingship.

Nuada is the patron of rulers, leaders, and heroes. He is also the war leader of the Tuathan church, in the sense of fighting for just causes, the protection of the Tuathan people, and thwarting the enemies of all good peoples, especially the Fomorians.

As a god of sea, Nuada cherishes rain, and storms. He is also sometimes considered a patron of ships and sailing due to their associations with weather and water. He was the leader and navigator that brought the Tuatha de Danann to the lands of Sidheon

Nuada is a tall, slender but muscular man in appearance, with pale skin and silver hair. In most depictions he carries sword and shield, and is equipped in silvery chain mail. A constant argent glow surrounds his form, ranging from a pale glimmer to a blinding aura, dep[ending on his will.

Dogma

Nuada teaches that leadership comes from strength, wisdom, and purity. And those that lead must be whole and worthy, in mind and body, lest they fall into corruption. Those that fail to meet the standards of leadership should graciously step aside in favor of others that can do better.

Nature, the woods, the plants, and the waters are our home and that which we must defend for those that come after us. The land is sacred and we are both its children and its protectors.

Adversaries/History

The Formorians, those who dwell under in darkness, are the legendary foes of the Tuathan de Danann. Ogre/Giantish in nature, they range in appearance from almost beautiful and statuesque to horrifyingly corrupted forms of insanity. Their outward appearance can belie their inner nature as most of the formorians are adept as illusionists, with some so skilled that they can turn the illusory into reality. In the early ages of the Tuathan people there were countless wars fought between the two groups over the fate of the land and its inhabitants. Although the formorians are mainly considered evil, there has been examples of peaceful cohabitation (albeit short lived) and even cross breeding. Balor, of the Evil Eye is said to the the son of a Tuathan and a Fomorian, and has the appearance of a giant with golden flowing hair, and a single eye in the center of its forehead. It was Balor that chopped off the hand and arm from Nuada during the Battle of Mag Tuired.

The Land and the Sea are our home. They are where we came from and where we dwell. The Sea brought us here, and cared for us in our travels, and the Land received us into stewardship. We have wandered, and we have fought. We have come home. - Taliesin
