A vast, quiet region of outer Wildspace — mostly uneventful, until it isn’t.
The Deepwake Expanse lies beyond Galbath's Coil, stretching toward the system’s outer boundary. Sparsely traveled and thinly mapped, most of it is empty space: cold stars and slow dust. And yet, strange gravitational readings, arcane irregularities, and temporal drift are reported often enough to keep the Veilwatch Concord watching closely.
Many scholars believe the Expanse is the best place to study planar drift and the subtle influence of the Maw. Some claim the two are linked: the wake of something old, or the pull of something worse.
Most expeditions return with little but odd veil readings and frayed nerves. A few recover strange wreckage or relics thought lost since the Ember Age. Some never return at all.
“Deepwake? Don’t let the name fool you. It’s mostly boredom and bad star maps. Until it’s not. Then it’s either the biggest thing you’ve ever seen... or the last.”
