Before its collapse, the forge-world of Kharos was famed for its arcane craftsmanship. Relics from that era, often simply called Ember-made, are among the most sought-after treasures in Wildspace. Some are elegant and enduring, masterworks of an age when magic flowed cleanly through leylines and skybridges. Others are more recent salvage, reworked from ruins or cobbled together in the wake of catastrophe. Not all are stable.
Scholars and spacers alike often group these items by origin and reliability:
- Starforge – Forged in the height of the Ember Age. Elegant. Enduring. Priceless.
- Primecast – Late Ember Age make. Still potent. Sometimes... temperamental.
- Ashborn – Salvaged or reworked post-Collapse. Unstable, fuel-hungry, or incomplete.
- Wakeborn – Touched by the Deep Wake or worse. Strange. Tainted. Possibly alive.
While the finest relics are treasured by collectors, spellwrights, and elite captains, others surface in vaults, wreckage, or black markets... tempting those bold or desperate enough to wield their uncertain power.
