Loose Threads: Consecrating the Monolith

Zinlynndise Imare here! I had joined with my friend Syltorin Margaster and new friend Bethany Claie on their quest to address a Demon issue - they had tried once before but had to flee from a scary Mouther. Kodzak, Terri, and Vhel were part of that, but went on their own business, so I was glad to lend a helping hand with The Ashen Hawk!
The journey (back) to the cave went pretty well, and we found Kobolds at the cave. Apparently they thought the place was a lost cause, because the Kobolds laid trap after trap and EVEN THEN they were set to collapse the cave. Intent on defeating the Mouther, we ventured inside despite the traps - let me just say right now Kobold traps are just the worst. There’s no kill like overkill for these Kobolds. We had to dodge rope snares that grab your ankles, animated rocks that pummel you followed by thunderous cloud traps - both of which chase you!
We had a short breather towards the end, where the stone and earth all around us were squishy to touch - signs of the Mouther. I spent every scroll and healing I had from the traps, but we readied ourselves to fight anyways. The fight was tough, but I used what my allies told me and wild shaped into an ape that pummeled the monster right back! Me and Ash did a lot of hurt, and Beth made sure Syltorin didn’t die.
After that we took another breather and found another room. Inside there we… [the rest of the passage is scratched out and illegible, with some tear stains blotting out parts.]
The Demon threat is addressed, though a consecration might be needed to remove the presence entirely.
