Loose ends: vampiric presence in the northern Millennium Forest; Agra (both have been solved)
The original report can be found here.
Short summary:
A group was assembled to look for missing Explorers' Guild scouts in the Millennium Forest. The party was attacked by Jinkins, then Zombies. They later found the remaining scouts in an abandoned shack, alongside Ghouls, but it was too late to save anyone.
Along the way, they were hindered by mists, and trees moving at night, which disoriented them and led them in circles. They also encountered Agra who provided them with some information, and Zinlynndise summoned a Naiad who revealed that the northern reaches of the forest are corrupted by vampiric presence.

Search for Scouts in the Millennium Forest
This is Sukemoru Uzuto. After returning from a mission from the Elemental Plane of Air, I approached a man who seemed to be part of a welcoming committee for new adventurers. His name was Syltorin, the dolphin ~
It is 'Dauphin'. - Syltorin |
~of a far-off kingdom whose name I have forgotten, and he was not part of any welcoming committee, though he did act like he was. I made a proposition that he join me to search for the scouts and he used his social skills to find Zinlynndise Imare, the Ashen Hawk, and Agromash. After getting acquainted with each other~
And Syltorin doing a diabolic blood ritual. - Ashen Hawk |
What I did was pray to the Goddess of my nation for favour, protection, and guidance, and I do not see the need to bring that up in this context. - Syltorin |
~we left for the Millennium Forest, before being attacked in a clearing by a band of Fey, who tasted like cruelty and ash. After subduing them and considering our next action for some time, a fog came in and with it 10 of the scouts in the form of Unknown. After making quick work of them, we tried to continue through the forest, but some strange force caused us to end up back in the original clearing. The two Fey that I tied up were dead, ripped apart from some unknown assailant. Once we had set up camp for the night, Zinlyndise summoned a Fey who did not seem amenable to the thought of eating Jinkins.
Nobody should be, if I am honest. - Syltorin |
After spending the night and experiencing nightmares that prevented all but Zinlyndise from getting a full night’s rest, we met a passing Fey woman. She was traveling south to another part of the forest due to the presence of a Vampire, and offered to tell us how to navigate the forest if we entertained her. After I decided not to fight her due to my tired state, the Ashen Hawk took up the offer to entertain by having sex with her for 30 minutes.
You really could have worded this better. Where is the flair, the drama, the mystery?! - Syltorin |
Seemingly entertained by his performance, she gave us the directions and we eventually came across an abandoned rundown house. We all sensed the presence of three enemies outside, who turned out to be Ghouls, and while our first attempts to strike them down were unsuccessful, we were eventually able to defeat even the most formidable of them all. Unfortunately, we neglected to check the house itself until it was too late, the last Undead scout killing the last living scout almost instantly. After Agromash, the Ashen Hawk, and Syltorin defeated the scout, we put the pieces of the last~
~ formerly ~ - Syltorin |
~living scout in a pile and returned her with her Recaller, as well as the body of the Undead scout.
Report: Zinlynndise
Ziny-Lynny here, local air druid extraordinaire. I didnt know much about this expedition heading out, I was just told to show up at the behest of Syltorin (who hence forth shall be dubbed Sylkie).
No he shall not. - Syltorin |
Though that might be a mistake, apparently not knowing what you are doing can get you killed. Buuuut I lived this long not knowing anything so I think I'm doing just fine.
What was I writing about? Oh so off topic. Anyways I showed up to the gates with Uzuto Sukemoru (Does Uzu sound nice?), Agromash (Agro), Sylkie the Dolphin ~
Syltorin, Dauphin of the House Margaster. - Syltorin |
Is that another way of spelling Dolphin? - Uzuto |
You are helpless. - Syltorin |
~and Ashen Hawk (Ash).
P.S. Agro and Ash might stab each other after the writing of this post. I'm not sure why, but if one of my friends disappears I'll be most sad. And so should you!
He didn’t accept my challenge. - Ashen Hawk |
Friends? Is this not the first time you’ve met us? - Uzuto |
We had a lovely trip across the plains to the forest for a day, pretty uneventful. Sylkie ~
Syltorin. - Syltorin |
~was trying to be annoying~
I was not. - Syltorin |
He was. - Uzuto |
~ I made sure to give him a lot of talking to cheer him up. The others just listened in a strange bewildered silence. Not sure why, me and Sylkie ~
Just stop. - Syltorin |
~ were just chatting? For hours on end? About my hair amongst topics of conversation too! He thinks it's lovely~
I do, it is rather mesmerising. - Syltorin |
You guys are doing this here, too? - Ashen Hawk |
At least I'm not sleeping with random women that come from the woods. - Syltorin |
Deciding we couldnt make much progress into the forest without going into the realm of night, we camped outside the forest. Venturing in, we were attacked by some mean Gremlins I recognized as Jinkins. Now, normally I dislike killing kind funny friendly Fey. So believe me when I say Jinkins are fine to hunt, because they'll do the same to you given the chance. Oh, and Agro fought a pitfall trap. Took him a few minutes but he was victorious. So long pointy wooden stakes!
I remember hearing tales that those are effective on vampires, perhaps we should have taken some. - Uzuto |
Then it got foggy! Then Zombies attacked us! They were the scouts we were looking for and some meanie turned them into walking shambles of their personas. It was then we came to the conclusion that the fog, blood bunnies, and bite marks that something vampiric and dangerous stalked the forest.
P.S.S: Blood bunnies were discussed in Artur's posted "The Monster Den" quest. The one with Jirel and me involving rabbits and Haunts.
So we realized that only 10 zombies attacked us (including the ones i dusted with positive healing. Healing spells are great). We were looking for 12 scouts from First Landing. Which means 2 more friends may be in trouble! Possibly alive! We rushed out into the fog... only to found we've gone in circles due to moving trees and the fog!
Everyone decided it was nap time after that. Sylkie ~
Why do I even bother… - Syltorin |
~ threatened to burn down the forest unless I figured out cause Druids know everything. To which I point out to the first paragraph I wrote. But I summoned a Naiad who helped explain things! Being a Druid is great.
It is not horrible, I will give you that. - Syltorin |
Oh! IMPORTANT! SUPER! IMPORTANT! READ THIS!
- The northern Millennium Forest is corrupted and cursed by an ancient evil. It draws bad things to it and befouls Fey, plants, water, and air;
- The land harkens to the will of an evil being of blood and anger and darkness. The very trees answer this meanies call. (Vampires!);
- Unnatural pale creatures feast upon the dead at night. They killed our Jinkin prisoners;
- The trees and fog will blind and confuse you during night. During day, particularly the dawn, they lose this power. It is impossible to travel the forest at dusk, night, or twilight.
There were some scary nightmares at night. That's a thing to watch out for. Everyone but me seemed to be exhausted by it. I was horrified, but still beaming the next day, raring to go. I suppose those with WILL can manage just fine.
In the morning another Fey woman by the name of Lady Agra passed by heading south. She offered us guidance to our scout friends if we entertained her. She wasn't interested in my pranks - c'mon they would have been funny!
I doubt it. - Syltorin |
Noooo, this woman just dragged Ash to his tent for half an hour. The sounds i heard from that tent... I know sex is like, how animals mate, but I never seen or heard people do it. It was weird, I was blushing in my own hands!
While it’s true he could have been faster, that’s no reason to be embarrassed for him, is it? - Uzuto |
Why were you both listening? - Ashen Hawk |
Because you were so loud. If you sought discretion, you should have gone further into the woods. - Uzuto |
Oh, right, because that's a good idea, Uzuto. - Syltorin |
Agra seemed just fine, though I suppose the amount of time The Ashen Hawk took might have changed things. - Uzuto |
Seemed worth it, Agra stepped out like a queen. We were given directions to a cabin in the woods, and travel in day times didn't impede us. There we fought ghouls and this ogre-like zombie of a scout. Sadly we were too late to save the last scout. I personally blame this ghoul who was making an embarrassment of us, deflecting blows and dodging heal spells. Who knows where sir Awesome Stink is now?
I'll stop writing here now. Sylkie ~
Syltorin. - Syltorin |
~ is pestering me to proofread what I wrote. He's just adorable sometimes~
I am almost touched. Almost. - Syltorin |
~ (when he isn't smoking-yuck).
Isn’t he almost always smoking? That’s quite the indictment against him. - Uzuto |
I have tough skin and a shriveled-up heart, I can take it. - Syltorin |
That’s horrifying, you should see a doctor immediately. - Uzuto |
