Archrdeon was a Neznámy lackey of Freygeys, who resided with him in Hygon of the Pines. His romantic love towards his superior was unrequited, and it appears that he poisoned Freygeys with Wyvern poison and slit his throat with a cold-iron dagger, before doing the same to himself, though Tragganor found this motive suspicious, saying that the love letter was unconvincing, short, and hastily written.
Circumstantial evidence pointed to the involvement of Lord Attys, via the presence of a coin that grants free passage in Eleutheria, the Purple Barony. Archrdeon might have been Attys' spy, or this coin was planted by someone else.
According to Hrood, Archrdeon was more tight-lipped and quieter than usual, in the time immediately before the assassination of Freygeys; he also appeared slightly taller and skinnier, but Hrood wasn't sure due to dim light.
