A Frost Nieznane of the Bitter Storm Clan, who guards a gate that leads to Wyrm's Fall, Balki first appeared on the quest Of the Hills, Our Bones (Part 2), together with Svæin Skjoldsson.
While guarding the passage, he made a deal with Syltorin Margaster to introduce him to his clan. The former fulfilled his side of the oath, and Balki promised to put in a word where matters, giving Syltorin means of contacting Balki in the future.
