Full Report

Daggoth is me, as you well know. I accompanied a pair of lovely datefriends, my cat, and a person-spider through a portal, on a journey that might change everything we know about this world. Or not.

Vhel had been busy of late, calling the shots on the excavation of a portal discovered amidst ruins *under* First Landing. When everything was ready, she invited us along to check the other side. it allegedly led to some sort of ancient elven ~~burial ground~~ destination? I can't read elven, so it was all beyond me. Anyway, when the portal activated we had to trounce a couple guardian states. No big deal for us! Ash wasn't even scared, he stayed with me the whole time. Terrible-Fangs-Latching-Upon-and-Bringing-Slow-Death-to-Enemies seems to have some weird obsession with throwing people. Why can't they have a normal obsession?

So we go through the portal and find a ourselves in a darkened room on the other side. After a bit of sleuthing, we found that we'd been deposited in some old caatle on a rock surrounded by the ocean. There were sogns that the castle was occupied, though it took some time for us to find anyone. Keyword: one. Well...not counting the ghoul in a closet. That was rude.

The layout of the castle was not very helpful. As a matter of fact, the magic contained within attempted to deliberately steer us in circles. Good thing my companions are so smart! We bumped in to an unseen servant, and it wasn't long before we encountered the master of the place, Zalael! Guy's a legend, or so I am told. He certainly had an old way of speaking. He's definitely something, though, like, some *thing*. Powerful mage, *probably undead.* Had his own take on how the elven civilization on this world was ended, claims he was exiled while things went bad and his people were overrun by the undead. He was exiled for having first unlocked the secrets of undeath, but his daughter brought the disaster. Maybe.

Anyway, we've got another lich on this world. His time.will come! He put on a real act of civility though. The thing's probably insane.

Well, our discussion was interrupted so we found our way out of the castle and on to the island grounds. Our exploration of the area was interrupted by a bunch of ghosts (I swear, the whole place is *haunted!*) and i turned in to a unicorn to save everyone. As dawn came, we decided to call it quits for the monent. Surely there is more to that island than we gathered. May be worth another look... if only to deal with Zalael the Exile.

PS: Tamiko Sato of House Miyagawa is a cutie.
