Loose threads Apparently Srasthadra's leadership can remotely kill traitors and 'compromised assets' via curse, also there was a slightly suspicious nurse who might have been infiltrating or otherwise under false alias as well
Participants Gharok Vhel Naomi Plume
Locations City of Srasthadra
Full Report: Seeking to finally follow up on a tip Naomi received after her traumatic last visit to Srasthadra, the party gathered to head to the city and learn whatever medical secrets the Unknown were harboring. (Well, Gharok was just joining to keep the trio of Investigators alive.) Using an enchanted Darklands map bought from The Sun-Seller, (and fighting ghoulish creatures on the way,) they entered a slightly more secluded part of the city via secret entrance (the route is presumably recorded in this report) and infiltrated a nearby hospital using Plume's Shared Invisibility spell. A doctor and nurse pair working on a patient did detect them, but Vhel used her own Invisibility magic to stealthily cause a distraction by applying an emetic balm to the patient, allowing them to escape (without following up on the suspicious behavior of the nurse, who didn't seem very knowledgeable and quietly cursed in Sylvan).
They managed to avoid any other detection all the way up to finding an emergency room, where some unusual serpentfolk with bright green scales were operating using large incising fangs which magically phased through tissue to administer some kind of highly effective biological medicine. Unfortunately Naomi's plan to invisibly coerce one of them into subtly giving them information was stymied by the previous detection having been reported by then, and the party had to resort to fighting off a roomful of guards and escaping with the serpentfolk doctor as a captive.
Unfortunately, when they were safely out of the city, the doctor was suddenly killed by a remote curse seemingly triggered by Srasthadra's higher-ups, leaving them with only the corpse's special glands and biological compounds to salvage and research.
(In-depth descriptions of the route, hospital, and the special serpentfolk are presumably included in this report, as well as a desciption of the odd nurse if that's deemed worthy of investigation so deep into enemy territory.)
