At the request of Lord Attys, I assembled a small, trusted party consisting of Bubbles, my best friend, Mai, my conscience, and Zia, my insurance that I won't fuck everything up, and proceeded with haste to the Elemental Portal Shrine for transit to the Temple of the Two Suns.
Upon arrival, we encountered a Thalassic-aligned elemental entity of toadlike form, self-identified as “Waterfall.” The presence of the Toad Guardian ensured safe passage. From there, we rendezvoused with Marsyas and crossed the lake from the Temple proper (without Marsyas obviously) , where we were received by the Lady of the Lake. She entrusted us with a message intended for Lord Attys, which we agreed to deliver.
We continued to Hemera, where initial access was delayed by Minotaur sentries. Once admitted, we met with Lord Attys and delivered the message. After a brief period of rest, we were assigned our primary objective and deployed via skyship to a forward fort within the Tanglelight.
Upon arrival, we were received by the Green Knight and again by Marsyas, acting as Master of Arms. Following a formal assessment, including a controlled mock engagement, our party demonstrated effective coordination and secured victory despite initial disadvantage. As a result, I was granted temporary command of the fort while Marsyas and the Green Knight conducted operations elsewhere.
Over the following months, the region remained largely stable. Minor disturbances were addressed through targeted deployments led by members of my party, all of which were resolved successfully. Operational efficiency improved, and the fort functioned effectively as a regional control point.
This stability was disrupted by the arrival of General Arfigel (nicknamed Farty) of the Republic. He issued a demand that we abandon the fort and permit unrestricted movement of his forces through the Tanglelight. This request was denied.
Subsequently, Farty returned with a modest force and initiated an assault on the fort. The engagement resulted in damage to our forces and nearly resulted in my own death. However, the defense held, and the attacking force was repelled.
General Farty survived the engagement and remains an active threat.
