Loytes was the mayor of a small fishing settlement next to the First Landing Port. She was born and raised in the Old World before arriving on Watcher's Island via the Portal.
She and her childhood friends: the Orc, Cred Shik, and the Halfling, Prissolu rose to positions of prominence in the settlement. Cred Shik became the town's chief guard while Prissolu secured a job in the Mayor's office.
Loytes once shared a youthful romance with Cred Shik. Later on, she met and married Fogdan, a Catfolk man. She had a daughter with him, Folres, who later became a Guild Scout.
Loytes was reported missing to the Guild and a party was sent to search for her during Afraid of the Dark. The party rescued her husband Fogdan, talked her daughter Folres out of a desperate rescue operation and investigated the circumstances of her disappearance. They learned that Loytes's friend, Prissolu, had secretly allied with a group of Vampires and allowed them to turn the settlement into a feeding ground for Vampires and Ghouls. Cred Shik was unaware of this, and had taken to heavy drinking out of grief since Loytes went missing.
The party tracked down the Vampires' lair, slayed two of them and rescued Loytes. She had been severely drained but managed to make a full recovery. However, Prissolu had fled before the party could apprehend her.
Many months later, Prissolu was reportedly seen in the Republic controlled port city of Javervale. Loytes accompanied the party to search for her in Beating Heart. Things went terribly on this mission. Javervale's surveillance system made it nearly impossible to conduct a search in the city. Eventually the party ran into a hobgoblin guard by the name, Zornum, who led them to a secret rebel base in an abandoned warehouse. Their leader, Rengoth, offered his aid to the party. Soon after, Zornum was killed by the Vampires, Guild adventurer Cati was arrested by the town guard and the rest of the party was forced to recall. The rebels' location was compromised and all contact to Loytes was lost.
Yet months later, upon request from Irma Astrodius, another party was dispatched to Javervale to exterminate the Vampires during the quest Underworld: Rebellion. The party tracked down the rebels and learnt of the Vampires' alliance with them. They intended to use the Vampires' powers to attack the Republic, kill the Overseer plus Executors Ingo and Irma Astrodius, and restore Javervale's independence. A lot of the rebels willingly embraced Vampirism. Loytes was forced against her will.
The party decided to side with the Vampires against the Republic but almost all of them were wiped out by a single Chain Lightning from Irma. The party would then switch sides once again, revealing the rebels' new hideout to the Republic, where the Executors and the party would proceed to permanently destroy all the vampires, Loytes included.
Thus ends Loytes's journey: a brave, strong woman who rose to the ranks of a leader; only to betrayed, multiple times, by those she put her trust in, culminating in an unremarkable death amidst a massacre.
