🌿 The Verdant Keepers
“Where root and word entwine, memory becomes green once more.”
🧙♂️ Overview
The Verdant Keepers are an order of druids, rangers, scouts, and lorewardens who serve the ancient Grove of Lost Stones & Verdant Scriptorium in Ashkarin. They act as stewards of nature's forgotten knowledge, guardians of the Standing Stones—mystic Druid Gates older than the city itself—and as quiet sentinels against threats that creep from beneath the earth or beyond the veil of dreams.
Though peaceful in appearance, they are not pacifists. The Keepers are greenwardens, spies, and sometimes executioners of blight—natural or magical. Their ranks are united by a core belief: memory has roots, and forgetting is as dangerous as corruption.
📍 Primary Location: The Grove of Lost Stones
-
A dense, ancient tangle of trees and moss-choked stones amid Ashkarin’s expanding sprawl.
-
At its heart lies a lopsided ring of Standing Stones, humming softly with old power.
-
Entry is permitted only to those who offer a sacrifice of memory, song, or truth.
-
Those who enter with violence in their hearts often vanish without trace, forgotten even by their own companions.

🌌 Standing Stones — The Druid Gates
-
Ancient monoliths surrounding the Grove, older than Ashkarin itself.
-
Used for teleportation, summoning, and banishment rituals.
-
On certain nights, the stones open on their own, releasing visions, lost spirits, or things not meant to return.
-
It is rumored one stone was chipped by a weapon of the Seeping Waste, and now bleeds black rot on moonless nights.
